The Department Board assists the Director in carrying out his duties and exercises the functions delegated by the Department Council.

The Board is composed of the Director, who chairs it, the Deputy Director, who holds an advisory vote in the presence of the Director, and twelve members, no more than one-fifth of the Department Council members. Board members serve a three-year term. The Board is composed of four full professors, four associate professors, and four researchers.

The coordinators of the departments, where established, also serve as members of the Board, with an advisory vote. The Administrative Secretary also serves as a member of the Board, with an advisory vote and the function of minute-taking secretary. Finally, representatives of the technical-administrative staff participate in an advisory vote when matters concerning said staff are being discussed.

Persons outside the Board may participate in Board meetings, with an advisory vote and only for the discussion of specific matters, if invited by the Director. Doctoral research coordinators and course council coordinators may also be invited to participate in the discussion of topics related to their role, with an advisory vote, if they are not members of the Board.
